Sales Manager – Midwest (Industrial Fluids)
Location: Michigan (Midwest Territory – Michigan preferred)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Work Model: Remote / Field-Based
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $80-120/k depending upon experience Commission/Bonus Automobile Allowance Generous Benefits

Overview

The Sales Manager – Midwest is responsible for growing and managing a defined territory through new business development and account expansion. This role focuses on value-based, technical selling of specialty and performance chemical products into industrial and automotive markets, working closely with internal technical teams and distribution partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new markets and customers within the Midwest territory
  • Close new business opportunities through value-based, technical project selling
  • Manage and grow an existing customer base with defined near- and mid-term growth targets
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing with customers and partners
  • Provide product and service guidance to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Technical, and Product Management
  • Support, coordinate, and motivate distribution partners
  • Maintain consistent customer engagement with urgency and responsiveness

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree highly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience
  • Chemical industry experience required
  • Experience with team-based selling (Sales, Technical, Product Management)
  • Residence in the Midwest (Michigan, Illinois, or surrounding states); Michigan preferred

Preferred

  • Chemistry degree, Chemical Engineering degree, Material Science Degre
  • Performance or specialty chemicals sales experience
  • Experience selling specialty additives for industrial and automotive markets
  • Product experience including defoamers, antifoams, and silicone release agents
  • Lab / bench experience a strong plus
  • Basic understanding of industrial and automotive regulations and compliance

Additional Information

Travel 60% in the field (3 out of 5 days in home office, once per month flying, up to two weeks a month overnight travel)
