What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Line Captain position at System One?
Job Title: Plant Line Captain
Location: Vandalia, OH
Type: Contract
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: Thursday-Sunday 8:00am-6:30pm and 7:00pm-5:30am (shift details included)
Responsibilities
- Ensure production quality meets specifications
- Communicate issues to supervisor and area manager
- Ensure line is running efficiently
- Provide mentoring to leads, promote mentoring of staff
- Make work priority list for personnel for utilization of time/capabilities
- Coordinate the flow of products through the department
- Manage the quality, availability, and affordability of the product line
- Assign workers to line positions as per play sheet, rotate workers throughout shift
- Manage all production line functions and resources to meet quality, cost, and schedule
- Make sure workers are performing duties according to play sheet
- Communicate with supervisor to improve line performance
- Help admin perform changeover procedure
- Work on line only to temporarily cover position if required
Requirements
- High School Diploma Required
- Experience on manufacturing line
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and attention to detail
