Phased Array UT Level III Program Manager

System One is looking for a Phased Array UT Program Manager for our Cheswick, PA NDE/QC Inspection operations.

Summary of Position:

Responsible to develop and deploy advanced NDE technology across System One Quality Solutions. Initial primary focus is the development of Phased Array Ultrasonic (PAUT) capabilities including technique development, procedure development, define equipment needs and manage equipment inventories and utilization, plan and conduct training, and represent System One in appropriate industry technical conferences. Additional engagement and leadership in other inspection technologies, and unmanned aerial delivery of inspection technology is also envisioned as the position and the program matures.      

Responsibilities/Job Functions:

• Develop System One’s PAUT inspection technology understanding, processes and delivery capacity
  
  • Prepare and publish PAUT procedures to conduct inspections across various code and base metal applications.
  • Prepare PAUT specific training and certification testing materials to support development of a qualified and certified PAUT work force.
  • Schedule and conduct UT and PAUT training classes.
  • Proctor UT / PAUT certification testing.
  • Define equipment requirements to establish a viable capability to deliver PAUT in inspections across power plant, pipeline, and manufacturing market applications.
  • Manage and maintain UT / PAUT equipment inventory
  • Coordinate the return on investment analysis to validate the acquisition of PAUT equipment.
  • Provide specific scan plan input for projects and support project delivery as needed.
  • Deliver selected ASME Section III, B31.1, B31.3, and Section XI UT / PAUT examinations. Also deliver UT / PAUT services across manufacturing, Mechanical Integrity, and US Steel markets when needed. This is not the primary function of this position but this service may be required as needed.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences associated with advanced NDE technology and applications.
  • Provide support to business development efforts employing advanced NDE as needed.
• In addition to the noted UT PAUT functions noted above, this position maybe called on to:
• Direct and Support other advanced inspection services as required to support that advanced technology development and advancement.
• Lead the implementation of world class safety, cleanliness and work quality standards in each market inspection work area assigned
• Work with System One leadership to coordinate sales and technical strategies and implementation of annual strategic plans.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma required. 2 or 4 year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in nondestructive testing
• Level III UT with PAUT endorsements required
• Other NDE level; III and Level II certifications desirable
• Required experience in advanced ultrasonic data collection and imaging
• Required experience in automated and encoded inspection services
