Overview:
System One is seeking a Nuclear Cyber Security Systems Architect to support advanced nuclear reactor technologies. This role is focused on the design, development, and integration of cyber and physical security systems within highly regulated nuclear environments.
This is a high-impact engineering role working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, compliant digital and control system architectures for next-generation nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and implementation of cyber security and digital control systems architecture
- Develop system and subsystem designs from functional requirements through final delivery
- Integrate instrumentation and control (I&C) systems with advanced security platforms
- Perform engineering evaluations in accordance with nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and review technical design documentation (requirements, specifications, interface documents, etc.)
- Support system integration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders across engineering disciplines
- Support licensing efforts related to cyber and physical security systems
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 6 years of experience in security digital systems architecture (education may count toward experience)
- Strong experience in instrumentation & controls (I&C) system development and integration
- Proven ability to design and deliver industrial digital systems
- Experience designing or maintaining nuclear cyber or physical security systems (required)
- Familiarity with nuclear QA standards (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1)
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to manage competing design constraints
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards
- Knowledge of Nuclear Cyber Security Plans
- Experience developing PFDs and P&IDs
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks)
