Responsibilities
- Analyze current network configurations and determine implementation requirements.
- Configure routing protocols, complex switch networks, and Fabric Path configurations
- Prepare network equipment for deployment by loading appropriate software and configuration setting according to pre-engineered design templates.
- Assemble required equipment, cables, adapters, etc., and arrange delivery to site for installation.
- Upgrade configuration of existing network equipment to support new features and functions.
- Work with field installation contractors while they are on-site and provide all technical details to complete installations.
- Continuously review the customer's network and practices to identify opportunities to enhance functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Assist in evaluating potential network products or technical solutions.
- Test LAN/WAN and WLAN equipment software (i.e., IOS, NXOS).
- Contribute to the development of network documentation, including diagrams, standards, specifications, and operating procedures.
- Monitor for opportunities to enhance network/system performance or reliability.
- Monitor for opportunities to improve customer service delivery practices.
Requirements
- BS/BA with 8 years of experience, MS/MA with 6 years of experience, or 3 years with PhD, or High School Diploma with 11 years of related experience in lieu of degree requirement.
- Must have 4 years’ experience administering and using the Cisco ISE platform.
- Must have 4 years of experience in a System Administration discipline managing VMware vCenter, Unix/Linux, and Windows platforms.
- At least 4 years’ experience with Cisco router and switch configuration commands and configuring network authentication using TACACS and RADIUS protocols.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience configuring management tools using SNMP protocol and Microsoft Active Directory user account administration.
- At least 3 years’ experience with Python scripting language.
- Must have Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification.
- Must be located within commuting distance to Baltimore, MD to support on-site requirements 2-3 times a week.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
