Responsibilities
- Prepare microbiological media for in-house food testing purposes
- Maintain an inventory of microbiological media formats to support testing
- Coordinate sample destruction after results entry
- Maintain autoclave records for routine analysis preparation and destruction
- Conduct microbiological analyses of food ingredients, finished products, and environmental swabs
- Plate for hygiene indicators and perform molecular testing for food-borne pathogens
- Assist in sample preparation and receiving as needed
- Interpret and review microbiological data
Requirements
- B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or related field; or 5 years of food microbiology work experience if no degree
- 2-3 years of microbiology testing experience
- Experience with media preparation, microbiological analyses, and data interpretation
- Microbiology is the most important skill set; food science experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work on-site as required
- Must be available for a 7-month contract
- 1 interview via Microsoft Teams, followed by on-site interview if passed
