Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with tool and die machinists to learn and support tooling, mold, and manufacturing processes
- Assist in the design, modification, and improvement of mechanical components, tooling, and molds
- Support foundry-related activities, including casting processes, mold design considerations, and material selection
- Create and update engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and manufacturability
- Troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues alongside engineering and shop-floor personnel
- Follow established safety, quality, and engineering standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience (internship or co-op experience may be considered)
- Basic knowledge of foundry operations, metal casting processes, and casting molds
- Willingness and ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment
- Strong interest in learning from experienced tool and die machinists
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Basic proficiency with Siemens NX software
- Portfolio of past projects available for review and discussion during interview process
