Instrumentation Control Technician

Job Title: Instrumentation Control Technician
Location: Lyndhurst, NJ

Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $33 - $36 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Monday through Friday (6AM to 230PM)
 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, document, and test computer control systems based on user specifications and operating requirements.

• Develop, test, and document computer programs related to machine control and operating systems.

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of instrumentation and control devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.

• Manage the calibration program, including scheduling, performing calibrations, and maintaining records in Calibration Manager Software in compliance with ISO 9000 standards.

• Support the maintenance and repair of labeling equipment, electrical systems, and electronic devices.

• Apply systems analysis techniques and collaborate with end users to identify and resolve control system needs.

• Provide weekend or on-call support as needed for troubleshooting and plant operations.

Qualifications / Experience:

• 5–10 years of experience in an ISO 9000 or process-type industrial facility (chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industry preferred).

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience with Technical School training; college degree a plus.

• Strong electrical background with hands-on experience in computer systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), and pneumatic/hydraulic devices.

• Familiarity with CMMS software and smart instruments is a plus.

• Skilled in analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting with an organized, methodical approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (P&IDs) and ladder logic diagrams.

• Proficient in performing instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
