Overview
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of building systems, equipment, and facilities. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots facility-related issues, and supports a clean, safe, and functional work environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and safety equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and service tickets.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building-related issues.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
- Monitor facility systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment inventories.
- Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, workspace setups, and facility modifications.
- Perform minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work as needed.
- Ensure facilities are clean, secure, and operational at all times.
- Support emergency response activities, including equipment failures, power outages, and facility incidents.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in workplace safety programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
- 0-2 years of facility maintenance or building operations experience.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic.
