System One is seeking Expeditors in Houston, TX to be responsible for ensuring that materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time and in alignment with the project schedule and contract requirements. The position involves running weekly supplier and engineering calls, analyzing supplier performance, escalating issues to upper management, and providing detailed status updates to all stakeholders to support Engineering and Construction teams. The ideal candidate is a self-driven communicator with strong problem-solving skills who can take initiative to identify, pursue, and resolve supply chain issues before they cause schedule delays.

Important Details:

• 6-month contract with possibility of conversion to a permanent position

• Pay rate range: $30 - $36/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

• Start date: Team is looking to hire (2) in April, (1) in May, (3) in June & (1) inJuly

• Work schedule: Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pm or 7:30am to 4:30pm

• Work location: Onsite at our client's office in Houston, TX 77042

• Weekly pay

• Job offer will be contingent on drug screen and background check

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform all Expeditor duties in accordance with the Project Expediting Standard Operating Procedure for the project in which assigned with focus on Documents as defined above.

• Run Expediting calls with suppliers and project team to support assigned packages and Document status.

• Provides updates to the project team on deliverables according to the contract to support Advanced Work Packaging.

• Attends weekly project meetings.

• Performs expediting activities associated with ensuring on-time delivery of equipment/material and documentation.

• Could be required to embed in fabrication facility or jobsite as required

• Travel required up to 25% of time for home office positions

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1-3 years relevant work experience

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc).

• Critical thinking skills/problem solving skills to Plan and perform work where only general policies or procedures are available

• Experienced communicator with effective verbal and written communication that allows for relationship and rapport building

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction

• Ability to recognize timelines and deadlines to prioritize work accordingly

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or bachelors degree

• 2-5 years of relevant experience

• Expediting experience in large industrial construction project

• Experience leading and managing others

• Experience/Working knowledge of Oracle

• Intermediate to Advance knowledge of working with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
