Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory operations, production, personnel, and quality assurance/quality control testing for commercial, retail, educational, manufacturing, government, and low- to high-rise construction projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform QA/QC testing on construction materials and building components, including soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt, in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate records of observations, inspections, laboratory testing, and quality control results.
- Organize laboratory data, process test results, and prepare reports.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring a clean, organized laboratory environment.
- Supervise laboratory personnel, provide training, and ensure required certifications remain current.
- Maintain laboratory accreditation and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and quality management procedures.
- Coordinate laboratory workflow while managing multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- ACI Concrete Strength Technician Certification – Required
- ACI Aggregate Base Certification – Preferred
- ACI Aggregate Testing Certification – Preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Construction Materials Testing laboratory performing testing and sampling.
- Strong understanding of ASTM, ACI, and AASHTO testing procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
