What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at System One?
Job Title: Construction Inspector
Location: Rochester, New York
Type: Contract To Hire
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Compensation: $22 - $28 hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform field testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, and steel);
- Communicate with project managers and sub-contractors regarding inspection, observation, and testing results;
- Transportation of sample materials for laboratory analysis;
- Preparation of field data and technical reports; and
- Travel to various construction sites to perform inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year experience in field construction inspection and testing; experienced with concrete testing, asphalt testing, and soil testing.
- Associates Degree
- Preferred certifications include:
- ACI Field Technician I (ACI 1)
- Nuclear Density Gauge certification
- ICC Soils
- ICC Concrete Placement
- ICC Reinforced Concrete
- ICC Structural Masonry
- ICC Structural Steel & Bolting
- New York State HMA (hot mix asphalt) certification a plus
- Previous experience in a soils or materials laboratory is a plus
