Commercial Plumbing Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Superintendent to oversee and manage commercial plumbing construction projects from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive field experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate manpower, subcontractors, materials, and project schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for commercial plumbing construction projects.
- Supervise and direct foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and project logistics.
- Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
- Ensure all work is installed according to plans, specifications, and local plumbing codes.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling or installation challenges.
- Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and owners.
- Manage quality control inspections and project punch lists.
- Track productivity and labor performance to meet project budgets.
- Assist with workforce planning, hiring recommendations, and employee development.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
- Prepare daily reports, manpower reports, and project updates.
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of commercial plumbing construction experience.
- 3 years in a Superintendent, General Foreman, or equivalent leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, including:
- Domestic water systems
- Sanitary waste and vent systems
- Storm drainage systems
- Natural gas piping
- Medical gas systems (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
