Collateral Underwriter
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze collateral documentation to ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines
- Evaluate property appraisals, title commitments, and other supporting documents for accuracy and completeness
- Identify collateral-related risks in loan files and communicate clearly to loan officers and processors
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, investor requirements, and underwriting standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of collateral review experience
- Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, HUD-184, VA, and USDA guidelines
- Certifications requirement: SARS for VA & CHUMS for FHA
- Familiarity with appraisal standards, title reports, and property valuation practices
- Strong communication skills
