Architect II
System One is partnering with an architectural firm based in OKC in search for a Project Architect II who plays a key role in leading the coordination and technical execution of architectural projects. This licensed position requires solid experience managing day-to-day project workflows, guiding internal teams and consultants, and ensuring that design intent is upheld through all phases. The role involves leading smaller projects independently or serving as a primary technical resource on larger, more complex efforts under the direction of a Senior Project Architect and with support from Project Managers. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, strong communicator, and emerging leader who is ready to mentor junior staff and grow toward a Senior Project Architect role.
Key Responsibilities

Lead daily coordination and technical execution of projects from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.

Manage and coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain design intent, quality, and alignment with project goals.

Develop and refine design and technical documentation, including drawings, details, and specifications.

Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and team members regarding project status, technical issues, and design decisions.

Assist with preparing and maintaining project schedules, scopes of work, and relevant documentation.

Oversee and review construction documents prepared by junior staff, providing guidance, redlines, and mentorship.

Conduct code research, evaluate technical solutions, and help resolve design and coordination challenges.

Lead or support construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, performing site visits, and preparing punch lists.

Participate in client and project meetings, presenting design and technical information as needed.

Uphold firm-wide standards for design quality, documentation, and client service.
Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited program.

Active architectural license in Oklahoma or eligibility for reciprocity.

Approximately 5–8 years of professional architectural experience.

Demonstrated experience leading technical coordination and documentation for small to mid-size projects and supporting larger, more complex efforts.

Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD and visualization tools such as SketchUp, Lumion, or Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

Strong understanding of building systems, detailing, codes, and construction administration.

Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines, manage deadlines, and organize project workflows.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Ambition to advance into a Senior Project Architect role with increased leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
