Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule: On-site | Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (some flexibility available)
Expected Duration: 3 months
Pay: $24-26/hr. 

About the Role

System One is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk to support our client’s finance team in Columbus, Ohio. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely vendor payments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, enter, and verify a high volume of vendor invoices in SAP.

• Review invoices and payment requests for accuracy, coding, and approvals per company policy.

• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.

• Enter and maintain financial data accurately in the SAP ECC accounting system.

• Assist with preparing and processing check, ACH, and wire payments.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies through communication with vendors and internal departments.

• Maintain organized accounts payable records, both digital and physical, for audit readiness.

• Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Provide general support to the finance and accounting teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in accounting, preferably in Accounts Payable.

Skills & Abilities

• Experience with SAP or a similar accounting/ERP system.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
