Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Procurement Technician to join the Procurement Team at Systech. This role is responsible for preparing, configuring, and delivering technology equipment to clients while supporting the day-to-day operations of the procurement and inventory process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically capable, and comfortable working with hardware, inventory systems, and shipping logistics.
The Procurement Technician will play a critical role in ensuring that laptops and other equipment are properly configured, accurately documented, and delivered to clients on time. This position will also support the creation of employee badges, inventory management, equipment staging, and other procurement-related operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Configure, prepare, and stage laptops, desktops, monitors, and other IT equipment for client deployment.
- Install required software, applications, updates, security tools, and configurations prior to shipment.
- Verify equipment is properly configured and meets client-specific requirements before delivery.
- Package and ship equipment to clients, coordinating with shipping carriers and tracking deliveries.
- Prepare equipment for new-hire onboarding, replacements, upgrades, and client projects.
- Create and configure employee identification badges and other access-related materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, serial numbers, asset information, and shipment details within Systech's procurement and inventory systems.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, labeling, and stocking hardware and supplies in the inventory room.
- Process procurement requests and ensure equipment is properly associated with the appropriate client, ticket, project, or order.
- Coordinate with the Service and Procurement Teams to ensure equipment is available and delivered according to project timelines.
- Inspect incoming equipment for accuracy and condition and report discrepancies or damaged items.
- Maintain an organized and efficient inventory and equipment staging area.
- Assist with inventory counts, reconciliation, and identifying discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Ensure equipment is properly documented, billed, and tracked throughout the procurement and deployment process.
- Communicate with vendors and shipping providers regarding orders, deliveries, returns, and equipment issues.
- Process equipment returns, including inspecting, documenting, and returning items to inventory when appropriate.
- Follow Systech's procurement, inventory, security, and equipment-handling procedures.
- Provide general operational support to the Procurement Team as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, peripherals, and other IT hardware.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, software installation, device configuration, and IT equipment setup.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and client-specific configuration requirements accurately.
- Experience with inventory management, procurement, shipping, or IT equipment deployment is preferred.
- Comfortable working with inventory and ticketing systems such as ConnectWise or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple equipment requests and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and move standard IT equipment and maintain an organized inventory environment.
- Highly dependable, process-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means equipment is configured correctly, inventory records are accurate, client shipments go out on time, and procurement requests move efficiently from order through delivery. The Procurement Technician should take ownership of the equipment preparation process and ensure every item leaving Systech is properly configured, documented, and ready for the client.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
