Duration: Minimum 2.5 months; this contract may be extended based on business needs, with potential opportunities for conversion to a full-time position.

Position Type: 100% Onsite in Phoenix, AZ 85007

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Arizona time

Official Title: Investigations Administrator

Max Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes, plans, organizes, and conducts investigations.
  • Supports the Medical Consultant and Outside Medical Consultants to coordinate resources in their processing of cases.
  • Collects data and ensures quality control and timely completion of projects and cases.
  • Organizes cases that go before the Board.
  • Responds to inquiries from licensees and complainants regarding investigations.
  • Initiates communication with licensees and their counsel where appropriate, and maintains records regarding this communication.
  • Organizes the investigations of allegations against osteopathic physicians in Arizona concerning quality of care and professional conduct violations, including sensitive issues such as substance abuse and sexual misconduct.
  • Oversees investigative process, assignments, and workflow, tracks status of all open cases, and strives to open and process cases in a timely manner.
  • Works to decrease the number of days it takes to resolve a case.
  • Incorporates guidance via the OSA statutes and rules as they apply to investigations.
  • Sends out materials for the Board's review.
  • Maintains high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reviews and edits reports from the investigative staff.
  • Prepares cases to go before the Board.
  • Works with the Senior Investigator, the Medical Consultant, and the ED to brief them on cases coming before the Board.
  • Responds to calls from licensees and complainants regarding investigations and other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in investigative meetings to assess which cases are ready for the next Board meeting.
  • Assists within the Agency where there is an open position or increased flow of work that exceeds the current staff's ability to handle the workload.
  • Becomes adept at understanding and utilizing Thentia software.
  • Supports a "can-do" attitude within a collaborative team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, as related to the position.

Skills Required

  • Basic computer skills.

Skills Preferred

  • Previous experience within the state.

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma.
