Construction On-Site Supervisor

We are a growing interior renovation company serving clients across New York City, looking for a motivated, organized, and experienced On-Site Construction Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact across multiple active job sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens; keeping projects on track, workers accountable, and clients satisfied.

This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality renovation work on time and to spec.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management

• Oversee daily operations across multiple active construction sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
• Coordinate site schedules to ensure projects remain on track and on budget
• Serve as the point of contact for clients during on-site visits and provide professional updates
• Respond to construction-specific inquiries via email on behalf of the company, fielding technical questions from clients, vendors, and other stakeholders with clarity and professionalism

Team & Labor Supervision

• Directly manage and supervise laborers and subcontractors across all active job sites
• Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on project needs
• Monitor worker performance and ensure productivity and quality standards are met
• Resolve on-site personnel issues promptly and professionally
• Coordinate and communicate scheduling changes across crews and sites

Project Documentation & Specs

• Maintain organized records of all project specifications, drawings, and construction details
• Track and document any changes to project scope, materials, or timelines
• Communicate updates, RFIs, and field conditions back to the office team
• Review plans and specs before work begins to identify potential issues or conflicts

Compliance & Permits

• Ensure all active job sites maintain compliance with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations
• Monitor permit posting requirements and ensure all required permits are active and visible on-site
• Liaise with inspectors and city officials as needed during inspections
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies on all sites
• Immediately address and document any compliance violations or safety hazards

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in construction supervision or a related field
• Demonstrated experience managing laborers and/or subcontractors across multiple sites
• Working knowledge of NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations and permit requirements
• Fluency in both English and Spanish
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens daily
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
• Experience with interior renovation and/or fit-out projects
• Familiarity with project management or scheduling software (e.g., ServiceM8, Procore, Buildertrend, or similar)
• NYC DOB Site Safety Manager (SSM) or Site Safety Coordinator (SSC) certification
