What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Syringa General Hospital?
Job Summary
The dietary aide will assist the dietary manager in providing dietetic services for patients and hospital employees. Will work 24 hours per week Friday - Sunday and occasionally fill in for vacation coverage.
Essential Job Functions
• Performs a variety of food service duties including cooking, assembling and delivering patient trays.
• Preparing meals and serving food to staff.
• Cleaning of kitchen area and other routine duties related to food preparation.
• Completes routine kitchen maintenance including cleaning cabinets, floors, and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• Knowledge and certification in food handling policies and procedures required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
Skills/Competencies
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk. Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Moderate physical activity, including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, pulling, and pushing.
