Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Mechanic I performs basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company vehicles, machinery, and equipment. This entry-level role supports skilled mechanics by assisting with inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Assist in performing routine preventive maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and machinery

· Inspect equipment for proper operation and report any issues or malfunctions

· Perform basic diagnostics and minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

· Change oil, filters, belts, and other standard components as part of routine maintenance

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and inspection reports

· Assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs and equipment overhauls

· Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively

· Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

· Follow all company safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and environmental policies

· Assist with inventory management, including tracking parts and supplies

· Respond to service calls and support equipment breakdown repairs as needed

· Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

· Perform other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Basic mechanical knowledge or vocational training preferred

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and standard repair equipment

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures

· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance)

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· Willingness to learn and develop technical mechanical skills

· Valid driver’s license may be required depending on role

· Basic computer skills preferred for recordkeeping and reporting

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Work performed in shop, field, and outdoor environments

· Exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and varying weather conditions

· Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces

May require overtime, weekends, or emergency call-outs depending on operational needs

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
