Job Description
The iSchool seeks an Associate Director of Admissions to lead enrollment strategy and operations across our full portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs—both on-campus and online. This is a pivotal moment to join the school: we’re launching a groundbreaking undergraduate AI degree program and expanding our reach in technology education.
This role offers unusual scope and autonomy for an admissions leadership position. You’ll oversee recruitment and admissions for both undergraduate and graduate populations, work directly with the Dean and school leadership on strategic enrollment planning, and help shape the future of our programs. The iSchool’s entrepreneurial culture means you’ll have the authority to innovate, build new partnerships, and develop strategies that respond to the rapidly evolving technology education landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking to enrollment management, comfort with data-driven decision-making, and the ability to recruit across diverse modalities—from traditional residential undergraduates to working professionals in online master’s programs. You’ll lead a team, serve as the school’s primary liaison to central admissions and marketing, and play a key role in positioning the iSchool’s distinctive programs in information, data, and technology.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s preferred in business, information systems, higher education, and marketing.
  • Minimum 5 years of recruitment experience in higher education is strongly preferred.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Understanding of higher education administration including, but not limited to, admissions, student registration, billing, financial aid, curriculum development, credit transfers, international student processes, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with lead nurture and funnel building.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Ability to relate well with student in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Able to be effective leader and communicator in cross cultural settings.
  • Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel and CRM platforms with ability to maintain, analyze, and report data.

Responsibilities
Strategic Enrollment Management
In coordination with the central Office of Admissions:
  • Execute enrollment plans for all undergraduate and graduate programs, across campus-based and online modalities, as developed in partnership with iSchool leadership and central enrollment.
  • Track and report on enrollment trends across UG and Grad markets, surfacing insights and opportunities to leadership for pipeline strengthening.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Syracuse’s central enrollment and marketing units for all iSchool program needs, facilitating communication and coordination.
  • Support yield strategy execution for both undergraduate and graduate populations, implementing tactics and monitoring outcomes in alignment with school and university goals.
Admissions
  • Assist with the application review of undergraduate and review all graduate applications.
  • Maintain and uphold clear, consistent policies for application review, decision timelines, and communication flows.
  • Mentor the admissions operations team and ensure training on undergraduate and graduate evaluation standards.
  • Coordinate data-informed decision-making using CRM and analytics tools.
Recruitment Leadership
  • In coordination with central admissions, execute on strategic direction for recruitment across all degree levels.
  • Supervise recruitment staff, set goal frameworks, monitor performance, and coordinate faculty involvement.
  • Ensure alignment between undergraduate and graduate recruitment strategies, where applicable, to support a cohesive pipeline (e.g., ‘4 1’ and internal pathways).
External Partnerships & Outreach
  • Build and maintain partnerships with high schools, community colleges, employers, military/veteran organizations, and feeder graduate schools.
  • Represent the iSchool at national and regional conferences and enrollment events.
  • Strengthening relationships with schools offering STEM, business, and technology pathways.
Scholarships and Merit-Based Aid
  • In partnership with the school’s budget officer and central admissions office, make recommendations for scholarships and merit-based aid for admitted students.
  • Contribute to the school’s scholarship strategy, planning, and monitoring of the iSchool’s discount rate relative to enrollment and net revenue goals.
