Syracuse Arts Academy, a well-established charter school located in Syracuse, Utah, is now accepting applications for a Prep Time Specialist for the new South Campus for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

The Elementary Computer Specialist is responsible for teaching computer science concepts to students in grades K-6, including coding, robotics and computational thinking. This role emphasizes collaboration with other specialists and classroom teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum, while also fostering a positive learning environment that supports diverse student needs. Other duties may include planning and facilitating professional development related to computer science and technology initiatives, and coordinating and leading the after-school robotics lab program.
Key Elements of Elementary Computer Science include Digital Citizenship, Problem Solving, Keyboarding, Computational Thinking and Collaboration, Coding Basics and Creative Expression. Qualified candidates should have an understanding of these concepts at the elementary level.
Applicants with knowledge of computer tech, digital media, visual art, basic coding and keyboarding are preferred. Experience with Apple technology including iPad and MacBook is also preferred. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Candidate must also submit for and pass a background check in accordance with Utah's Department of Public Safety requirements.
