Description
Under Physician supervision, this position serves partnering schools in the areas of program management, prevention, and recovery of injured athletes by responding as a first medical professional on the scene after an injury and collaborating with Providers to provide emergency and follow-up care. Collaborates with rehab team when an athlete is also getting care from the physical or occupational therapist. This position currently serves the schools of Weeping Water and Conestoga.
This position is a full time, benefited position. The hours typically begin mid-day but will vary depending on athletic practices and game schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science or related field
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Current/Active license to practice in the State of Nebraska
- Strong understanding of the challenges athletes face, proper nutrition, sports injuries, and treatment options
- Experience in applying first-aid treatments, massage, and treatment techniques and equipment use
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and attentive
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to work outdoor in all types of weather, evenings and weekends and frequent travel
