What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Service Technician position at Syr Comm Health Cntr?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, storing and distributing the medical devices required for patient care in compliance with Infection Control Policies and Procedures. Central Service Technicians provide support to all applicable patient-care areas and offsite locations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduation of a Central Service Technician Course is required. Demonstrated experience, to include internship hours, is preferred. Successful completion of the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification is desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ambulatory – 95% Sedentary- 5%
Subject to stress and Fatigue. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination when working with patients and equipment. Subject to repeated bending, squatting and stooping. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
