Your responsibilities will include animal handling, assisting in exams and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and delivering excellent client service.Key Responsibilities:Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and minor proceduresSafely handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatmentsMonitor and care for animals before and after surgery or treatmentClean and sanitize exam rooms, kennels, and equipmentAdminister medications or vaccinations as directed by a veterinarianCollect and prepare samples for laboratory testingMaintain accurate patient records and update files as neededEducate pet owners on basic animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructionsSupport front desk operations when needed, including check-ins and schedulingEnsure the clinic is stocked and organized with suppliesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (required)Prior experience in animal care or veterinary assistance preferredStrong animal handling and restraint skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasksExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCompassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing quality careAbility to lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 lbs Company DescriptionOur animal hospital has been a landmark in the Syosset community since 1946.
