Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant supports the Finance leadership team in financial closes and audits and related responsibilities, while also driving process improvement initiatives. This position holds a crucial role in advancing our use of technology to reduce manual processing and improve timeliness and accuracy of deliverables, while maintaining strong financial controls.
Job Responsibilities:
· Develop deep understanding of business as well as finance responsibilities and deliverables.
· Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes and audits.
· Research best business practices and technologies to establish benchmark data to identify opportunities for automation and streamlining various tasks and responsibilities.
· Develop sustainable and quantifiable business process improvements to meet business growth and scalability needs.
· Coordinate and co-lead monthly update meetings with leadership.
· Assist in coordination and participation in various audits throughout the year.
· Research and analyze data and prepare reconciliations and meaningful analytical reporting.
· Meet with internal and external business partners as needed.
· Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis.
· Help plan, coordinate and complete special projects and periodic audits.
· Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
· Ad-hoc assignments and reporting as deemed necessary.
· Oversee and review work of others as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Technical Skills:
· 4-year degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar field. (Accounting preferred.)
· Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance, full cycle accounting a plus.
· Process improvement / project participation and leadership experience preferred.
· CPA preferred and MBA is a plus.
· Accounting experience in wholesale distribution, retail sales, and/or consumer goods a plus.
· Strong proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)
· Experience with Power BI is beneficial.
· Understanding of Blue Cherry or a similar merchandising system.
· Experience with tools that extract data from ERP systems (Planful, Hyperion, etc)
· Strong understanding of accounting, US GAAP and accounting software.
· Prior audit firm experience beneficial.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
