Civil Engineer – Project Manager (Land Development)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer – Project Manager to lead residential and commercial land development projects from concept through construction. This role involves managing engineering design, coordinating internal and external teams, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential and commercial land development projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Perform and oversee civil engineering design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site layout.
- Coordinate project work with EITs, designers, and technical staff, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Collaborate with CAD designers to develop and review engineering plans and construction drawings.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing project updates and technical recommendations.
- Coordinate with external consultants such as surveyors, environmental specialists, and geotechnical engineers.
- Prepare feasibility studies, engineering reports, and cost estimates for development projects.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of CAD software and engineering plan development.
