Packaging Operator

Summary 

• As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating machinery and equipment used in the production of agricultural chemicals. Production will include manual and automated filling of containers, sealing, packing and stacking products to Synsus’ high -quality standards. A good candidate will have high standards, attention to detail, and a general understanding of quality processes. Must be able to work well in a fast-paced team and take direction.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Adhere to company safety, quality, cleanliness, and production standards.
• Operate equipment to fill, seal, and package liquid and granular products.
• Place and feed items onto equipment for processing.
• Stack, organize and palletize packaged products.
• Ensure products meet quality specifications and mark them for identification.
• Accurately count and record production rates.
• Follow instructions from line leaders, supervisors and managers.               
• Assist in additional tasks as assigned.
• Clean and flush filling equipment.
• Clean and maintain packaging equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and take out trash.
• Any other duties assigned.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and quality focus.
• Any appropriate combination of education and experience.
• Clean and organized, detail-oriented, and quality-minded.
• Able to both manage independently and work within a team.
• Good attitude and positive outlook.
• Flexible with duties and responsibilities.
• Sense of urgency when deadlines need to be met.
• Pallet jack and forklift experience is a plus.

Education/Experience

• HS Diploma or GED desired
• 2 years of relevant experience

• While performing the duties of the job the employee may work in a lab and a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.  Extra training and PPE is provided when filing a material with hazard precautions.
