Job Summary:
An Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing processes, improving productivity, reducing costs, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources in manufacturing or service environments. The role focuses on analyzing workflows, designing systems, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design layouts for equipment, workspace, and material flow to improve efficiency and safety.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for management review.
- Identify waste reduction opportunities using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and perform cost-benefit analyses.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Assist in capacity planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling.
- Implement digital tools or systems (e.g., ERP, SAP) for process tracking and optimization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering (or related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or process improvement roles (can be adjusted by level).
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with time studies, line balancing, and process mapping.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
