Job Summary
The CIO will oversee all aspects of our technology infrastructure and strategy, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and exceptional user experiences. They will lead a team of over 200 team members that set the strategic direction, identify and implement emerging technologies, drive data-driven decision-making, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and represent the company externally. As a strategic leader, the CIO will shape our technology roadmap and ensure our company remains at the forefront of innovation in the banking and fintech industry.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic technology vision: The CIO is responsible for setting the long-term technology direction and aligning it with the organization's overall business goals and objectives.
- Lead technology innovation: The CIO plays a crucial role in identifying and implementing emerging technologies that can drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the company's competitive position
- Manage IT operations and infrastructure: The CIO oversees the day-to-day management of IT operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of technology systems, networks, and infrastructure to support business operations.
- Drive digital transformation: The CIO leads the digital transformation efforts of the organization, identifying opportunities to leverage technology to transform business processes, enhance customer experiences, and enable new revenue streams.
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity measures: The CIO partners heavily with the CISO, and combined they are responsible for developing and implementing robust cybersecurity strategies and measures to protect the organization's systems, data, and customer information from internal and external threats.
- Foster data-driven decision-making: The CIO drives the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools to gather insights, support informed decision-making, and optimize business performance across various functions.
- Build and manage technology teams: The CIO recruits, develops, and manages high-performing technology teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and a culture of continuous learning within the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: The CIO works closely with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, department heads, and external partners, to understand business needs, align technology initiatives, and ensure smooth integration of technology solutions.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: The CIO ensures that the organization's technology systems and processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in areas such as data privacy and security.
- Stay informed about industry trends: The CIO actively monitors and evaluates industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, attending conferences, participating in industry forums, and networking with peers to stay updated and ensure the organization remains ahead of the curve.
- Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
