Key Responsibilities
Provide the minimum knowledge and skills required to competently perform the job as well as how they are normally acquired through education, training and/or experience (i.e., Knowledge of…..; ability to…..; as normally acquired through a…. degree and ___ years of experience.):
· Knowledge and skills typically obtained through a related bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least three years of related experience in a customer focused environment, preferably in higher education, nonprofits, or related field.
· Candidate should possess a general HR knowledge-base, discretion in handling confidential information, and have experience building successful professional relationships across a broad spectrum of employees.
· Excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail
· proven ability to demonstrate initiative and motivation
· Ability to translate HR policies, system processes, and best practices into everyday language that managers and staff can understand
· Well-developed problem-solving skills, along with the ability to effectively anticipate or interpret employee and manager needs
· Strong proofreading, attention to detail, and follow through skills are essential
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and multiple, competing priorities
· Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and quality of work
· High level of proficiency in MS Office applications [Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word] and ability to use/learn core HR platforms.
· Must have a strong team-oriented and flexible approach to work, must be able to operate independently after initial project assignment and with periodic guidance.
