Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta's Finance Business Partnering Team is seeking a Financial Analyst in Greensboro, NC. This role will work with stakeholders and respective finance business partners to support function expenses, primarily in the North America Crop Protection (CP) business. The Analyst will support the month-end close reporting as well as forecasting and budgeting function expense analysis.
Accountabilities:
- Monitor function expenses monthly, analyzing trends, missing adjustments, opportunities for efficiencies, etc.
- Perform month-end close activities including accruals and other journal entries.
- Research variances to budget and prepare needed adjustments.
- Fully understand expenses, variances to budget, and provide meaningful commentary.
- Work with stakeholders to update monthly forecasts of full-year spend.
- Meet with stakeholders and ensure they have necessary tools and reports for reviewing function expenses.
- Work with function expenses analyst team to build annual budget templates used for budget collection.
- Support stakeholders to build budgets, provide relevant expense analysis, and prepare presentations for review.
- Load approved budgets into the SAC tool and ensure they are accurately represented.
- Work with stakeholders to discuss Risks and Opportunities and update monthly forecasts of full-year spend.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study or equivalent experience, with a focus on technology.
- 2 to 5 years' accounting/finance experience.
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, modeling, and benchmarking.
- Experience with standard financial analysis tools, i.e., NPV, risk assessment, and value creation.
- Experience preparing company budgets.
- Digital awareness and adoption mindset—leverage technology and data-driven decision-making for data analysis.
- Continuous improvement mindset—leveraging and sharing best practices in ways of working and processes.
- Business acumen and connectivity, end-to-end know-how.
