We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting operations and provide clear financial visibility into the business.
This role is built for someone who doesn’t just report numbers—but understands them, challenges them, and uses them to drive better decisions. You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy across a hybrid business model that includes both project-based services and SaaS licensing, while delivering insights into margins, revenue performance, and cash flow.
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. You will be expected to operate with a high level of ownership and accountability.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore Accounting & CloseOwn and execute the monthly close process (timely, accurate, and repeatable)
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain the general ledger
Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounts are clean and supportable
Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively—no surprises at month-end
Ensure proper revenue and cost recognition across both services and SaaS licensing
Ensure accurate revenue recognition for project-based (time & materials / fixed fee) engagements
Ensure proper revenue and cost recognition for SaaS licensing (monthly vs. annual, upfront vs. ratable)
Understand and track deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and associated liabilities
Align revenue recognition with billing structures and customer invoicing
Ensure cost of goods sold (COGS) for licensing is properly recorded and matched to revenue
Analyze margins across projects, customers, service lines, and licensing
Partner with delivery and sales teams to ensure financial alignment (hours, billing, licensing costs)
Identify margin leakage across both services and SaaS and provide actionable recommendations
Understand utilization, billable vs. non-billable time, and impact on profitability
Build and maintain monthly reporting packages for leadership
Provide clear insights into business performance (not just numbers)
Track and explain variances vs. prior periods and expectations
Support pricing decisions across both services and licensing deals
Own cash flow forecasting and monitoring
Provide visibility into short- and mid-term cash position
Account for timing differences between licensing payments, customer billing, and collections
Identify risks early and recommend actions
Ensure financial and project data are accurate and aligned across systems
Ensure project setup, billing, and time tracking align with financial reporting
Ensure licensing transactions are accurately reflected in financial records
Identify and implement process improvements as the business scales
Support audit readiness and maintain clean, organized financial records
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
4–8 years of accounting experience (public accounting or services/SaaS business preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
Experience with both project-based accounting and SaaS revenue recognition
Familiarity with deferred revenue, accruals, and subscription-based billing models
Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close ownership
Strong Excel skills (comfortable building models and analyzing data)
Extremely detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy
