What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEC Reporting Manager position at Synergy Search?
Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting | $150K to $155K 12% Bonus | Nashville, Hybrid
I'm working a search for a growing public company in Nashville that's still building out its reporting function. That means real ownership here, not a seat where the process is already set in stone.
What you'd own:
- Lead SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and proxy statements
- Draft financial statement disclosures and MD&A
- Research technical accounting on complex transactions like M&A, stock comp and revenue recognition
- Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors
- Own SOX 404 internal controls
- Partner across Legal, Investor Relations and Corporate Development on deal accounting
What gets you in the door:
- 4 to 8 years of SEC reporting or technical accounting experience
- Big 4 or large public accounting background strongly preferred
- CPA preferred, not required
- You connect the "why" behind the numbers, not just process them
Why this one's worth a look:
- Genuine hybrid schedule, you pick your in-office days
- Leadership experience with room to grow as the team scales
- Strong technical mentorship from experienced reporting leadership
- Excellent PTO in practice, strong 401k match, covered parking, company phone
- Younger, social F&A culture that values non-traditional backgrounds
Salary : $150,000 - $155,000
