Job Summary
The pharmacy fulfillment technician will perform pharmacy-related tasks in a fast-paced environment under the supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy fulfillment technician will provide pharmaceutical services to long term care residents in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety and will be responsible for ensuring all prescriptions are filled without errors in a timely manner. This position will require exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize work to deadlines, and have excellent attention to detail.
1. Medication Order fulfillment (i.e., various packaging, dispensing machine, labeling, shipping, etc.).
2. Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing.Key Responsibilities:
3. Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include staging the medication for Pharmacist final review and/or packaging of medication after Pharmacist final review.
4. Coordinating and staging items for delivery for an accurate and timely delivery to the customer.
5. Works with Technician Supervisor in maintaining a clean, safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety and cleanliness
6. Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
7. Receives and stores incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, checks for outdated medications in current inventory and informs supervisor of stock needs and shortages.
8. Mix pharmaceutical preparations, according to written prescriptions.
9. Complies with all laws, regulations and standards of ethical conduct.
10. Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is a plus
- FrameworkLTC & ECM knowledge preferred
- Previous pharmacy technician or order entry experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and computer systems
- Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
- Proof of registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee by the Pennsylvania State deadline of June 28, 2026
Work Environment & Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while using a computer
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on pharmacy needs
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
