What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paid Social Creative Strategist position at Synergy Labs?
Paid Social Creative Strategist - DTC
Role Overview
SynergyLabs is seeking a high-output Paid Social Creative Strategist to build and manage a consistent pipeline of conversion-focused Meta advertising creative.
This role owns the strategy, development, production, and iteration of paid-social creative. The ideal candidate understands how creative drives performance across Meta, can translate campaign data into new testable ideas, and can reliably deliver a steady volume of static, video, creator-led, and UGC-style ads each week.
You will sit at the intersection of brand, performance marketing, creators, affiliates, and conversion optimization. Your job is to continually answer one question: What creative should we test next to acquire more customers efficiently?
What You’ll Do
Creative Strategy & Testing
- Own the weekly pipeline of paid-social creative concepts for Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
- Develop new creative hypotheses, angles, hooks, product stories, offers, objections, formats, and messaging territories based on performance learnings.
- Build and maintain a weekly creative-testing roadmap that clearly identifies:
- Concepts to test
- Target audience or customer insight
- Creative format and placement
- Hook and messaging approach
- Offer or call to action
- Key learning objective
- Planned iterations of existing winners
- Review creative performance with the paid-media and analytics teams to identify winning patterns, underperforming elements, and the next set of tests.
- Distinguish between ideas that require a new creative concept versus those that can be improved through new hooks, edits, copy, creator delivery, thumbnails, offers, or calls to action.
- Create systematic iterations of winning ads so high-performing insights can be scaled rather than treated as one-off successes.
Paid-Social Creative Development
- Concept, write, and produce a high volume of Meta ads for testing each week.
- Develop static, carousel, motion, video, creator-led, testimonial, product-demonstration, founder-style, before-and-after where compliant, educational, and UGC-style paid-social creative.
- Write direct-response ad copy, primary text, headlines, scripts, hooks, creator talking points, visual briefs, and calls to action.
- Turn one core creative idea into multiple testable executions, including variations in:
- Opening hook
- Creator or spokesperson
- Product benefit
- Consumer problem or pain point
- Proof point
- Offer
- Visual format
- Length and pacing
- Call to action
- Adapt creative for Meta placements and consumption behaviors, including Reels, Stories, Feed, and vertical short-form video.
- Ensure assets are built for performance—not simply brand awareness—while maintaining appropriate brand quality, product accuracy, and claims discipline.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
- Review ad-level and creative-level performance data to understand what is driving results.
- Translate findings into practical next actions: what to repeat, what to improve, what to stop, and what new hypothesis to test.
- Develop a working understanding of performance signals such as thumb-stop rate, hook retention, video watch behavior, click-through rate, conversion rate, CPA, ROAS, frequency, and creative fatigue.
- Partner closely with media buying to separate creative issues from audience, bidding, budget, placement, and account-structure issues.
- Maintain a structured library of creative tests, results, learnings, and reusable winning elements.
- Present concise weekly recommendations on creative performance, upcoming tests, active production needs, and emerging customer insights.
Funnel & Landing-Page Alignment
- Partner with the landing-page and conversion-rate optimization resource to ensure paid-social messaging carries through the customer journey.
- Ensure that landing pages reinforce the same consumer problem, product benefit, proof, offer, and call to action introduced in the ad.
- Identify creative insights that should inform landing-page tests, including headlines, benefit prioritization, objections, testimonials, offers, and visual proof.
- Flag disconnects between the ad promise and the onsite experience that may reduce conversion performance.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first several months, this person will establish a repeatable paid-social creative operating system that produces:
- A reliable weekly volume of new, launch-ready Meta creative.
- A clear testing roadmap rather than reactive, ad hoc creative production.
- A diversified pipeline of creator, affiliate, UGC, static, and edited-video assets.
- Faster iteration on winning concepts before creative fatigue reduces performance.
- Better documentation of what works across hooks, claims, creators, formats, offers, audiences, and product stories.
- Stronger alignment between ads, landing pages, and the full acquisition journey.
- Measurable improvement in the consistency and quality of creative testing—not just isolated winning ads.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in performance creative, paid social, growth marketing, direct-to-consumer marketing, or a closely related role.
- Deep practical understanding of Meta performance creative and how creative affects paid-social acquisition results.
- Strong direct-response copywriting ability, including short-form hooks, scripts, primary text, headlines, benefit framing, objection handling, and calls to action.
- Demonstrated experience producing or directing static, short-form video, UGC-style, testimonial, and creator-led advertising.
- Experience managing UGC creators, influencers, affiliates, freelancers, production partners, or creator communities.
- Ability to interpret campaign and creative-performance data and turn it into clear, prioritized creative tests.
- Proven ability to work at a high cadence and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.
- Strong creative judgment balanced with commercial discipline: you care about performance, not simply whether an ad looks polished.
- Excellent briefing, communication, project-management, and feedback skills.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with brand, e-commerce, media buying, design, video editing, creators, affiliates, and CRO resources.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in DTC consumer products, health and wellness, beauty, personal care, pet, supplements, or other consideration-driven categories.
- Experience working with compliance-sensitive product claims, testimonials, ingredient stories, or regulated-adjacent categories.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and creative reporting tools, although this role will not be responsible for day-to-day media buying.
- Hands-on capability in video editing, basic motion design, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar content-production tools.
- Experience working with Shopify brands, subscription businesses, or customer-acquisition models where retention and customer quality matter in addition to first-order ROAS.
- Experience building creator whitelisting, affiliate-content, or paid-usage-rights programs.

Consumer insight: Understands customer pain points, motivations, objections, language, and purchase triggers
Direct response: Writes and structures creative to move consumers from awareness to click to purchase

High-output execution: Consistently moves ideas from concept to launch-ready assets at speed
Creator management: Sources, briefs, guides, and improves creator output with clear standards and performance feedback
Analytical judgment: Uses creative results to determine the next highest-value test
Cross-functional collaboration: Keeps ad creative, media strategy, brand standards, creator work, and landing pages aligned
Reporting Relationship
This role will work closely with the paid-media team, e-commerce team, brand and design resources, affiliate and creator partners, and landing-page/CRO resource. The reporting line can be finalized based on organizational structure, but the role should have direct access to creative-performance data and weekly media insights.
Positioning for Candidates
This is not a traditional brand creative role and it is not a media-buying position. It is a hands-on performance-creative role for someone who enjoys operating at speed, generating a high volume of ideas, directing creators, analyzing results, and building better ads every week.
