What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer position at Synergy Design & Construction Inc?
The Role We're looking for a talented, enthusiastic Interior Designer to join our team and work closely with our Lead Designer and Project Director across the full design and production process. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that lives at the intersection of creative design and operational execution. If you love the design process AND the satisfaction of seeing it through to a perfectly installed finish — this is your role.
What You'll Do
Design & Selections
- Support the design process from concept through construction — mood boards, material selections, finish schedules, and design intent documentation
- Accompany clients to design showrooms and guide them through selections with confidence and warmth
- Maintain the project Finish Schedule with accurate, current information — tracking every selection from specification through delivery confirmation
- Flag substitutions, lead time issues, or delivery discrepancies immediately so nothing falls through the cracks
Materials & Coordination
- Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and returns across active projects
- Ensure all materials are confirmed, staged, and accounted for before installation begins
- Verify installed selections against specifications at key project milestones
- Work closely with the production team to make sure design intent carries through to execution in the field
Team & Admin
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment where everyone pitches in
- Support general administrative needs as they arise — mailing, errands, office coordination
- Contribute to Synergy's social media presence by sharing in the documentation of our beautiful finished projects
Technology
- Embrace AI tools and technology as part of your daily workflow — we are a tech-forward operation and want someone who is genuinely excited about what these tools make possible
- Proficiency in design software such as Chief Architect, SketchUp, Canva, or similar is a plus
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Interior Design or related field
- 2-5 years of residential interior design experience preferred
- Detail-oriented and highly organized in order to manage multiple projects
- Warm, client-facing personality with genuine design instincts
- Tech-savvy and open to learning new tools — you see technology as an asset not a burden
- Collaborative by nature — you thrive in a team environment and find satisfaction in shared wins
- Ability to handle administrative tasks with a positive attitude — no task is beneath you
What We Offer
- Full-time position with consistent, meaningful work on high-end residential projects
- Competitive hourly compensation — $30-35/hour based on experience
- Health insurance benefits
- A close-knit team where your voice is heard and your work is visible
- Beautiful projects with clients who care deeply about quality and design
