Job Summary
The Dental Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing and claims process. This position requires the ability to understand coding procedures, payor requirements, and client-specific requirements to accurately process claims. They will work closely with the internal team, insurance companies, and dental providers to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
Responsibilities:
- Submit insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims
- Submit clearinghouse rejections and denials
- Resolve billing and insurance dental claim issues
- Stay up to date on changes in dental billing and coding regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in dental billing and insurance claims processing
- Strong knowledge of dental billing codes and insurance regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in dental PM billing software
Environmental/Working Conditions: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office/classroom environment. Manual dexterity is needed for using a calculator, phone and computer keyboard. Occasional classroom environment and over-time may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
