Role Description The Speech Language Pathologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Mobile, AL. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders for autistic children and other individuals with special needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing one-on-one and small-group therapy, and collaborating with families, behavior analysts, educators, and other professionals. The Speech Language Pathologist will document progress, adjust interventions as needed, contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings, and participate in caregiver training to support carryover of skills at home and in the community.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Speech Therapy and Speech intervention for children and individuals with special needs.
  • Knowledge and experience in treating Communication Disorders and Language Disorders using evidence-based practices.
  • Competence in evaluating and managing Dysphagia, including safe swallowing strategies and collaboration with medical providers when needed.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or working toward completion is preferred.
  • Experience working with autistic individuals and familiarity with interdisciplinary care models, including ABA and other therapies.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Effective, inclusive communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with families and multidisciplinary teams.
