Solution Architect – Workday Financial Systems Implementation

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the technical solution design for a

Workday Financial Management implementation in a large enterprise environment. This

role requires hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise financial

systems, with prior responsibility in technical or solution-focused roles such as Technical

Architect, Senior Business Systems Analyst, or Finance Systems Lead.

The Solution Architect will be accountable for defining secure, scalable, and integrated

solutions, working closely with Finance, IT, Security, Data teams, and a third-party Workday

implementation partner.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture and Design

• Define and own the end-to-end solution architecture for Workday Financial

Management.

• Translate finance and business requirements into scalable technical designs.

• Lead design reviews and validate architecture decisions across modules and

integrations.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term maintainability.

Integration, API, and Automation

• Design integrations between Workday Financials and surrounding enterprise

systems.

• Define API and microservices-based integration patterns.

• Establish standards for error handling, monitoring, reconciliation, and automation.

Design job scheduling and batch processing for financial operations and reporting.

Security and Controls

• Define role-based security, access controls, and segregation of duties.

• Ensure secure handling of financial data and support audit and compliance

requirements.

• Partner with security teams to ensure authentication, authorization, and logging

standards are met.

Data and Analytics

• Define data flows for financial, master, and reference data.

• Support analytics and reporting solutions through enterprise data platforms and BI

tools.

• Ensure data quality, reconciliation, and auditability across systems.

Delivery Support

• Support testing, cutover, and go-live readiness from a solution architecture

perspective.

• Review data migration, reconciliations, and financial outputs.• Produce and maintain architecture and design documentation.

Technical Competencies

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of experience delivering enterprise financial systems.

• Hands-on experience in technical or solution architecture roles.

• Proven experience designing integrations, APIs, and data solutions.

• Experience working with system integrators and enterprise stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Workday Financials implementation experience.

• Experience with Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, NetSuite, or PeopleSoft financial platforms.

• Experience supporting audit and internal control requirements.
