We are a state-of-the-art, moderately complex hematology laboratory dedicated to delivering accurate and timely results that directly impact patient care for Hormone Replacement Therapy and Weight Management. Our team is committed to quality, safety, and innovation, and we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Specimen Processor to join our growing team. Our lab runs 24/7 and utilizes Beckman equipment.
Position Summary
The Laboratory Specimen Processor plays a vital role in supporting diagnostic excellence by receiving, verifying, and preparing specimens for testing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a structured laboratory environment. This position ensures accurate specimen handling, proper data entry, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, contributing directly to efficient and precise laboratory operations.
Pay & Schedule
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday Every Other Weekend (40 hours/week)
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Verify accuracy of client and specimen information
Inspect specimens for adequacy and proper labeling
Enter patient and specimen data into the laboratory information system
Label, prepare, and route specimens for internal testing or external reference labs
Centrifuge, aliquot, and process specimens as required
Load and unload specimens on laboratory instruments
Perform routine QA/QC tasks (temperature logs, eyewash checks, etc.)
Maintain a clean and organized work area following lab safety standards
Dispose of specimens according to retention policies
Assist phlebotomists and clinical staff with specimen inquiries and turnaround times
Follow all PPE, regulatory, and company policy requirements
Complete required training and competency assessments
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer service-focused mindset and team-oriented approach
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office experience preferred)
Previous laboratory, medical, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
