Facility Security Officer Summary:
A leading defense manufacturing organization is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee day-to-day compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security regulations. Based in Coachella, CA, this full-time position works closely with the Site Leader to manage personnel security, physical plant security, and classified information, ensuring alignment with NISPOM and federal security standards. Candidates must have an active DoD 'Secret' clearance and bring strong organizational, interpersonal, and ethical standards to the role.
Facility Security Officer Responsibilities:
- Oversee security program implementation and compliance in accordance with NISPOM and other DoD agency directives.
- Manage security personnel and physical plant security, including alarm notifications and facility access control.
- Maintain and process personnel security clearances, classified document control, and visitor access records.
- Coordinate classified visits, domestic and international, including briefings and debriefings for incoming and outgoing employees.
- Conduct regular self-inspections to ensure compliance with DCSA and DD-254 requirements.
- Administer COMSEC account responsibilities, including duties as Custodian and Controlling Agent.
- Support and manage classified contract closeouts and contractor security requirements.
- Provide security training and education including new hire, annual, foreign travel, NATO, and exit briefings.
- Maintain security systems experience such as ISSM/ISSO protocols and Homeland Security CFATS compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and government stakeholders to ensure site-wide security integrity.
Facility Security Officer (FSO) Requirements:
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer or Assistant Facility Security Officer required
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of and experience working with AA&E, ATF and DCFS reporting requirements
- Experience with COMSEC account management
- Ability to oversee 1 direct report and contracted security team
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
