Apartment Maintenance Technician
** Must be able to start working immediately. **
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
Location: Hatfield, PA
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Property Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the property. This role plays a critical part in resident satisfaction and maintaining high standards across the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in apartments and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, turnovers, and appliance maintenance.
- Respond promptly to resident service requests and complete work orders efficiently.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including cleaning, repairs, and improvements (make readies).
- Conduct regular inspections of the property and equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance such as snow removal, pool maintenance, and landscaping tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and building codes.
- Work with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed.
- Participate in the on call rotation for emergency maintenance services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in property maintenance.
- Must have knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general construction.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and team members.
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical labor as needed.
