Job Title: Trade Compliance & Freight Manager

Overview

The Trade Compliance & Freight Manager is responsible for leading global trade compliance activities and overseeing freight operations to ensure regulatory adherence, cost efficiency, and high-quality service delivery. This role requires strong expertise in international trade laws and logistics management, along with the ability to drive operational improvements across global supply chain networks.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Compliance

• Develop, implement, and maintain global trade compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including customs rules, EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and other legal requirements.
• Manage import/export classification processes (HTS, ECCN), country-of-origin determinations, and free trade agreement qualifications.
• Oversee Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including audits, documentation, activation, recordkeeping, and SOP development.
• Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and internal training programs.
• Serve as the primary liaison with customs and regulatory authorities.
  
  

Freight & Logistics

• Lead global freight operations, optimizing cost, service levels, and transit performance across all transportation modes.
• Manage partnerships and contracts with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
• Oversee freight audit and payment processes to ensure accuracy and recover costs.
• Establish KPIs to monitor carrier performance, service quality, and logistics cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with warehouse and distribution teams to streamline inbound and outbound freight processes.
• Drive process improvements to reduce logistics expenses and transit times.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in trade compliance and freight/logistics management.
• Strong understanding of U.S. customs regulations, HTS/ECCN classification, and FTZ operations.
• Experience managing global freight contracts and working with carriers and brokers.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience training or managing teams.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCS, CES, LCB, CTPAT) preferred.
