- We are hiring a contract Pilot Manufacturing Line Engineer/Supervisor to lead a new production line that is being created to run low volume on a new product.
- Helping to get this line up and running, staffing it with contract help, and leading the team to meet production goals. This role is onsite at our Shakopee, MN facility.
- Responsible for leading a production line of around 10 - 20 assemblers and technicians.
- Help hire and train new employees
- Prioritize and manage workload with allocation of resources
- Address concerns with line employees and maintain a safe, productive working environment
- Assist in manufacturing process development in collaboration with Design & site Manufacturing engineers.
- Assist in troubleshooting of new equipment, identifying and resolving issues under supervision.
- Order materials, maintain inventory with revision level and record retention
- Assist in establishing and documenting NPI production processes and revising them as conditions change.
- Coordinate shipping of production orders
- Make decisions to up-hold quality expectations.
- Manage quarantine of materials and manage sorting/retesting when required
- Direction to technicians, responsible for maintaining stock and parts for the line.
- Shift hours: Flexible - 7:30 - 4:00 ; 8:30 - 5:00 with half hour lunch
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM discipline, or a two-year technical degree with a long history of success in this type of role
- Experience supervising a team of employees
- 2 years of process engineering or manufacturing experience
- Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to support process optimization.
- Experience with precision measurement equipment and methods.
- Ability to analyze problems and contribute to developing practical solutions
- Ability to work well in a team environment and resolve conflicts in the organization
- Experience using Excel
- Flexibility in taking on responsibilities outside the formal job description as required for the success of the project
- Mechanical aptitude (smaller parts assembly)
- Exp in managing group of people
- 5 years in manufacturing environment
- Materials Planning experience
- Experience with custom automated equipment
- Experience with assembly of small components
