The ideal candidate will have experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while providing professional and compassionate client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters from intake through discharge.
- Gather, organize, and review client financial documentation.
- Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and other required court filings.
- File documents electronically through CM/ECF.
- Communicate with clients regarding documentation requirements, deadlines, and case status.
- Coordinate and prepare clients for 341 Meetings of Creditors.
- Draft routine pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Monitor case deadlines and maintain accurate, organized case files.
- Communicate with trustees, creditors, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and provide excellent client service.
- Support attorneys and other staff in the day-to-day management of bankruptcy matters.
- Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience, preferably in consumer bankruptcy.
- Strong knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy procedures.
- Experience with bankruptcy software such as Best Case, MyCase, or similar platforms.
- Experience with CM/ECF electronic filing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in a high-volume bankruptcy practice.
- Familiarity with local bankruptcy court rules and procedures.
- Spanish-language skills are a plus but not required.

Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
