Leadership & Project Execution
- Supervise union millwright crews and coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
- Mentor apprentices and journeymen.
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
- Experience with rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyors, and gearboxes.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and material handling systems.
- Proficient with precision alignment tools such as laser alignment systems, dial indicators, and micrometers.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
- Review project drawings and define the millwright scope of work.
- Prepare labor, equipment, and material estimates.
- Participate in bid reviews and project planning.
- Develop work plans and installation sequences.
- Track productivity, labor hours, project costs, and schedules.
- Manage self-performed work from planning through field completion.
- 5 years of industrial millwright experience with 2-5 years in a leadership role (Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Millwright).
- Experience in manufacturing, power generation, refineries, food processing, steel mills, or other heavy industrial facilities.
- Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent.
- Experience with industrial shutdowns/turnarounds.
- Rigging, welding, or crane certifications.
- Familiarity with project management or digital reporting software.
