Key Responsibilities
- A precision manufacturing company supporting aerospace, defense, commercial, and industrial sectors is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer skilled in CNC programming, process optimization, and automation.
- This role supports the transformation toward a modern, software-integrated, highly automated production environment.
- Program 3-5 axis CNC machines using CAM software (SolidCAM preferred).
- Develop toolpaths, fixtures, machining templates, and standardized setup documentation.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support operators on the floor.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities (probing, in-process inspection, digital workflows).
- Integrate machines with monitoring systems and support ERP → CAM → Machine → QC connectivity.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts: 5S, SMED, kaizen, process mapping, ERP accuracy, waste reduction.
- Improve throughput, reduce variation, and enhance workflow efficiency.
- 3 years of CNC programming/machining (3-5 axis).
- Strong CAM experience (SolidCAM or similar).
- Proficient with GD&T and tight-tolerance machining.
- Experience with automation, digital manufacturing, or CI projects.
- ERP familiarity (JobBOSS or similar).
- Hands-on problem-solving and ability to work on the shop floor.
- Can Lift 50 lbs, move through shop environment, strong metrology and inspection capability.
- Machine monitoring tools (MTConnect, FANUC FOCAS, etc.).
- Robotics/cobots or automated part handling experience.
- Macro writing/probing cycle customization.
- Industry 4.0, digital workflows, and data-driven manufacturing.
- Power BI or automation tools (Power Automate).
- Ability to train/mentor machinists.
