Position Overview
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of PC and PLC-based control systems for custom continuous process and material handling equipment.
- Design and develop PC- and PLC-based control systems for automated equipment and production processes.
- Create control platforms that integrate multiple systems and interface with customer networks and ERP systems.
- Observe and test equipment to ensure control systems meet all design specifications prior to customer release.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support for customers, both on-site and remotely, to resolve control-related issues.
- Stay current with emerging controls and automation technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Controls Engineers and Designers, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior engineering leadership.
- Proven experience managing a diverse engineering team, including hiring and training staff.
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and control system design.
- Proficiency in PLC and PC programming, including familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Hands-on experience with industrial networking, HMI development, and related control interfaces.
- Knowledge of Indusoft and Ignition software is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- A strong background in electrical engineering, controls integration, and team leadership, with the ability to oversee both project execution and personnel management.
- Supervisory Scope: Oversees a team of approximately 4-6 Controls Engineers and 3-4 Controls Designers.
